Community FireSmart Day

The Vallican Whole is a recognized FireSmart Neighbourhood, thanks to years of hard work by volunteers to mitigate wildfire risk on and around the Whole grounds.
On Saturday July 20th, we’re welcoming the community back to the Whole for a work and learning day. Participants can meet with RDCK Wildfire Mitigation Specialist Bree Lillies to learn about FireSmart strategies and opportunities. The Passmore Fire Department will also be on site with their hose and firetruck, sharing about the work they do in our community.
RARTS volunteers will be doing some FireSmart work around the buildings & grounds, and invite you to put on your work gloves and help out!
Coffee and refreshments served starting at 8:30 am. Work will be happening till about noon. All are welcome!
